Capital Therapy Dogs was founded by a group of experienced therapy dog enthusiasts dedicated to kindness and care for people of all ages. We follow a standard process in assessing temperament, health, and safety to evaluate and qualify each volunteer handler and dog for participation in Capital Therapy Dogs. Our volunteers conduct therapy dog programs with respect and professionalism at schools, libraries, community centers, hospitals, assisted-living facilities, and many additional locations. Interacting with therapy dogs helps improve mood and provides a sense of calm, companionship, and connection. Happy humans and their friendly dogs visit together to offer comfort, encourage children to read, lessen stress, lift spirits, and bring joy to others. 

Capital Therapy Dogs is a 501(c)(3) public charity incorporated in California. We have no paid staff.
